Exterior Crack repair
Whan cracks can't be injected from the inside, or if removing the wall finishings would be cost prohibitive, or if you simply wish the crack to be waterproofed from the outside, an exterior crack repair is performed. Again, you will see redundancy in our procedure, a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd line of defense to ensure your crack never leaks again. Procedure is as follows:
1. Entire crack is excavated, wire brushed, and filled with bentonite. Weeping tile test is performed. If weeping tile test fails, job is stopped an homeowner is notified in order to discuss draiage options.
2. Bentonite is covered with a rubber waterproof membrane (usually blue skin)
3. Providing weeping tile is functional, we then install a dimpled sheet air-gap membrane over top of the rubber membrane as additional waterproofing as well as a hydrostatic pressure relief
4. Gravel draianage layer is reinstated and backfill is replaced and mounded for settling
